Picking Limes

It's not about fruit, it's about choices.

I gave birth to two baby boys with no pain and no meds using Hypnobabies.

It was so easy to learn, I did it mostly in my sleep.  In. My. Sleep.  It was incredible!

Interested?  You can do this too.

Who am I?

I do not work for Hypnobabies.  I do not work in the birthing industry at all.  I'm just a mom who was blown away by the kind of pregnancy and birth experience Hypnobabies allowed me to have.   I want to share that experience and the knowledge I gained from it with as many people as I can.  Hypnobabies is so easy to do and it's extraordinarily effective.  I just can't understand why more people don't know about it.

For those already using Hypnobabies, I want to help with the search for knowledge that will push your Hypnobabies practice further - something more than a birthstory.  When I was pregnant, I spent lots of time combing the web looking for information that would make my experience even more rewarding.  I'm hoping this site can be the well organized treasure chest I never found.  If you have some ideas about things I could include on this site or you just want to drop a note and say hi you can reach me at ginger[at]extralime[dot]com.

Why "picking limes"?

When I was pregnant with my first son, I read something a hypnomom had written about visualizing her decision to use her tools during her birthing time.  She said that she visualized it as a fruit stand where she was choosing which fruit she wanted to buy.  I really liked that image and I've found it to be helpful, not just in my birthing time but throughout my life.  You have a choice in how you deal with every situation.  The circumstances may not be what you expect but it's up to you to choose how you'll deal with them.  "Do I want to be angry or patient?"   "Should I succumb to panic or take a deep breath and see what kind of calm I can muster up?"  Adding a layer of tangibility makes that distinction easier for me to keep in mind.  If I'm picking fruit in my head, it's usually limes.  I like limes.  All that said, I haven’t taken any photos of limes recently, hence the goldfish.
